Zonta House Refuge Association (Zonta House) is a specialist provider of family and domestic violence (FDV) services. Our purpose, values and services have been informed through 38 years of experience, the needs of women in our community and research in leading practice.
Zonta House provides a suite of services for women experiencing FDV that reinforce one another and represent the core of Zonta House’s work. That is, when the voices of women are heard, our responses uphold dignity, builds on safety, and challenges the drivers of abuse. Victims/Survivors of FDV are able to access responsive and person-centred support based on their needs to build a future free from abuse.
About the role
We are seeking a Recovery Support Worker to provide support across the metropolitan area. The Recovery Support Worker role works with women in our refuge and transitional accommodations or in the community who have who have been identified as having drug and/or alcohol dependency and/or mental health concerns, to support their emotional well being and recovery.
This is a full time position on a fixed term contract until the end of June 2025, with the possibility of extension. The role is based in Bentley with some travelling required across the Perth Metropolitan.
Key Selection Criteria
- Relevant qualification and/or degree in Social Science, Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Community Services, Drug and Alcohol, or Mental Health.
- Experience of working with women affected by family and domestic violence, drug and/or alcohol, mental health issues and trauma.
- Demonstrated ability and success in engaging and supporting children, young people and/or women who have experienced family and domestic violence.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in providing therapeutic approaches, strategies and interventions.
- A passion for contributing to social change.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships, advocate and refer effectively to a wide range of service providers.
- Experience in providing professional and high quality reports and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and maintain own workload whilst still able to work effectively as a member of a team
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills
- Competency in SHIP, Penelope or other similar case management software, desirable
The successful candidate will need to provide:
- National Police Clearance Certificate
- Working with Children card
- A valid motor vehicle driver's license with a good driving records
