A newly created role, RACS seeks a specialist recruitment coord with some generalist HR experience to join its team of committed human rights lawyers as it scales up to undertake a new project.
The Refugee Advice and Casework Service (RACS) is one of Australia’s oldest and most successful dedicated community legal centres with a vision of justice and dignity for refugees and a world where those who seek Australia’s protection are able to live their lives with dignity, security, family unity and freedom. RACS provides free, dedicated legal services to people seeking asylum and refugees.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to make the most of a newly created position. You will be responsible for the recruitment and onboarding of high quality legal and operational staff, to enable to organisation to quickly expand and gear up a new project. You will report into the Director of Finance & Operations.
The Recruitment & HR Coordinator is expected to have:
- Experience in end-to-end recruitment is essential
- Ensuring equality and diversity is celebrated, inclusive and considered as part of all decisions taken
- Demonstrated experience implementing proactive talent strategies to recruit for hard to fill roles
- High level interpersonal skills with the ability to build strategic working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Familiarity with HR/applicant tracking systems
- Prepare new employment contracts and complete pre-employment checks, including WWCC, Working eligibility rights (Vevo) and references
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new starters
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and contribute to the continuous improvement of our talent acquisition processes
- Assist with the offboarding of staff at the end of the project
- Generalist HR duties as required
Essential Selection Criteria
- Minimum of 1 year’s end-to-end recruitment experience (internal or agency)
- Highly developed abilities in relationship building and customer service skills at all organisational levels
- Strong coordination skills supportive of a multi-tasking environment
- Strong MS Office skills and experience using a candidate CRM or HR System
- Additional generalist human resources experience
- Degree or Diploma qualification in Human Resources would be beneficial but not essential
- High-level problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues or problems and recommend strategies, ideas and opportunities for resolving them
