Project Tarsier

Project Tarsier is a research for development project aimed at improving our understanding on how to implement large-scale rehabilitation of deforested and degraded forest landscapes and enhance the socioeconomic status of communities through providing sustainable livelihoods. Using an action research approach, the project team are working with communities in the Philippines to restore over 10,000 ha of deforested and degraded landscapes, which will create a ‘living laboratory’ to address key research and policy issues.  The generation of carbon credits funds both the reforestation activities and sustainable livelihood development for local communities. The project is funded under the Shell Nature-based Solutions initiative.
