About the opportunity
The Building Manager reports to the Construction Director and is part of the MJH Construction team. In this highly rewarding role, you will lead construction operations in the Hunter and Mid North Coast regions to achieve our objectives for safety, cost management, logistics, construction programming, quality and environmental performance. More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Provide safety leadership and ensure WH&S is at the forefront for employees and contractors
- Execute the construction strategy and drive the achievement of KPIs to a high standard
- Actively participate in and raise project risks in weekly team meetings and work with our Site Managers to resolve action items
- Provide leadership, support, and governance to the Construction & Maintenance/Warranty teams
- Uplift the capability of the construction team and service & warranty team in your region through one on one coaching and internal/external training programs
- Coordinate the identification and selection of subcontractors and suppliers in line with agreed procedures and authorities
- Identify opportunities to improve construction processes, safety, customer experience and programmes to align to best practice and operational excellence
- Provide governance and input to ensure our homes are built to standards and codes
About you
You will share a passion for our purpose and be aligned to our core values. In addition, you will demonstrate:
- A tertiary qualification in Building and Construction or equivalent trade experience
- Previous experience in a construction management role with expertise in project management across multiple sites
- Proven leadership skills and strong focus on mentoring and coaching
- Excellent understanding of building regulations and ability to ensure homes are built in accordance with all standards and regulations
- An ability to lead and drive a team to deliver high quality projects
- Strong problem-solving skills, energy and drive, and the ability to build a culture of high performance
