Job description

About the opportunity 

The UQC Regional Manager’s key role is the coordination, management, and evaluation of offshore education opportunities for UQC in emerging markets such as SE Asia and LATAM as well as domestic education opportunities. The position will collaborate directly with UQ Future Students recruitment team and support their activities for the marketing, promotion of pathway programs and the recruitment of pathways students. This role will also have responsibility to engage with partners and agents for stand-alone ELICOS, Group Programs (including Study Abroad) and VET programs. 

The position will involve regular local and international travel.

UQC provides international and domestic students with access to further and higher education through the delivery of high-quality pathway programs: the Foundation Program, the Bridging English Course, the Tertiary Preparation Program and several Vocational Education and Training (VET) Programs.  In addition to pathway programs, UQC is rebuilding its long-standing partnerships with clients, partners, and institutions to strategically grow standalone English language enrolments, and Customised Programs and Study Tours.

About the team

The Regional Manager will join our Business Development team and report directly to the Senior Manager Business Development. The team are responsible for implementing UQC’s ambitious Strategy and Operational Plans. 

About you

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:

  • Extensive experience in marketing and business development in the education industry across international markets, with an entrepreneurial approach to identifying and generating opportunities. 
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Marketing or Business and or substantial relevant skills and work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage short, medium, and long-term sales pipeline in relation to student targets.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present in front of large audiences. 
  • Strong cross-cultural understanding and ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of audiences from different cultural backgrounds and respond positively when resolving issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and liaise with a range of recruitment agents, and partners including client institutions, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Highly organised to manage multiple projects, including the ability to set priorities, manage time and plan work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Ability to work some weekends and additional hours from time to time.
  • Queensland Government Blue Card (Working with Children check)
  • Current Driver’s Licence and current passport
