An exciting opportunity exists with the South Australian Country Fire Service to be part of the Region 6 (Eyre Peninsula & West Coast) team, planning, coordinating, and delivering fire and rescue services.
In an emergency, the South Australian community relies on well trained and equipped volunteer firefighters. The Planning Officer is responsible for ensuring our brigades can effectively respond to urban and rural fire, road rescue, heavy rescue, and HAZMAT incidents.
To be successful in this role you will bring emergency management planning and operational experience and a passion for enabling our volunteer brigades to deliver services to their communities. You will be comfortable working unusual hours, with frequent travel across the Region, and occasional inter and intra-state travel.
The successful candidate will also be required to undertake operational command and control duties during emergency incidents, including the role of Regional Duty Officer. These duties will be dependent on the candidate's skills, knowledge, and abilities. Additional training and professional development opportunities will also be available.
Prospective applicants are encouraged to contact the hiring manager to discuss relocation and accommodation options in Port Lincoln, operational payments and allowances and the benefits of living and working on the Eyre Peninsula, South Australia's Seafood Frontier.
