Wallsend Manor Aged Care are currently seeking Registered Nurses to join our team on a part-time and casual basis.
We are located approximately 14 kilometres north west of the Port of Newcastle and offer a serene country like setting with views across the rolling hills. We provide residents a mix of low care, high care, dementia services with ageing in place while providing quality care, community and an engaging lifestyle for our residents to enjoy.
About the Role
Our Registered Nurses provide a high standard of clinical care and service delivery to residents. They will have responsibility to lead, guide, and manage the Enrolled Nurses and Personal Care Assistants team providing clear direction, allocation of duties, and support.
Our Registered Nurses will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Develop comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments and care plans for new and existing residents, in consultation with the resident/resident representative, and collaboration with clinical, medical, allied health and lifestyle staff.
- Ensure that all medical and or allied health professional directives are carried out as ordered and outcomes are evaluated.
- Investigate any changes in the health or condition of residents or any complaints about care and report to Clinical Care Coordinator/Facility Manager.
- Provide direct care to residents demonstrating expertise in contemporary clinical practice and acting as a role model for staff.
- Ensure accurate completion of all documentation required for ACFI submission is completed in a timely manner in consultation with the ACFI Coordinator.
- Ensure that administration of medications are in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
About you
The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:
- Proven skills in clinical assessments, care planning to accurately reflect assessed care needs of residents.
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills and ability to foster effective relationships
- Ability to prioritise and manage workloads according to resident needs and work as a member of a multidisciplinary team and manage staff.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Aged Care Funding System, ACFI documentation requirements, and the Aged Care Standards Accreditation Process.
- Computer literacy with Aged Care software and Microsoft Office suite
- A commitment to providing a caring and empathetic service to our residents while respecting their privacy, choices and cultural preferences.

The successful applicant will be required to have the following:
- Bachelor of Nursing degree and a current AHPRA Registration
- Willingness to obtain valid Police Check
- Australian/New Zealand residency or a valid working visa
- A current COVID-19 vaccination
- A current Influenza vaccination
