About the roleThe Registered Nurse working in the Alcohol & other Drug Program works with a multi-disciplinary team which draws on health care clinicians both from within the health service and in partnership with our GPs and Community Organisations. The Registered Nurse’s role focuses on the care of the client whilst they are receiving pharmacotherapies for AOD withdrawal, anti-craving medications and medications used for opioid substitution therapies.
The position will also provide liaison work with GP practices and community pharmacies, as well as assisting with Addiction Medicine Service.
We are Community Mental Health / AOD Service for Orange and Region and this program is situated within Orange Health Service. The AOD program has multi-disciplinary clinicians of whom work in Orange and Region. We offer Addiction Medicine Specialist consults, Counselling and Relapse Prevention Strategies, Withdrawal care, Opioid and anti-craving pharmacotherapies, and specialist care for people who use substances during pregnancy or are new parents.
