Position Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) & Midwives to join our team in providing essential nursing care in Remote Areasof Western Australia. As a Remote Area Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive healthcare services, addressing the unique healthcare needs and challenges faced by individuals in remote communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide holistic nursing care to individuals across the lifespan, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to medication management protocols and safety standards.
- Perform clinical procedures and interventions within the scope of practice, maintaining competency and adherence to best practice guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate integrated care plans and promote continuity of care for clients.
- Provide health education and preventive health interventions to individuals and communities, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
- Participate in community outreach initiatives, health promotion activities, and immunisation programs to improve community health outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing assessments, interventions, and client progress by professional standards and organisational policies.
Requirements:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Demonstrated clinical experience in acute care, primary healthcare, or Remote Area nursing settings preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make sound clinical judgments and prioritise care effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish therapeutic relationships with clients and their families.
- Cultural competence and sensitivity to the needs of Indigenous populations and other diverse communities.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in remote and resource-limited environments.
- Flexibility to adapt to the challenges and demands of Remote Area practice, including limited resources and geographical isolation.
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to remote communities as required.
