The roles include intermittent weekday and weekend work running consistently from as early as February 2024 through to the performances on 18, 19 & 20 July 2024.
CGEN is Queensland's largest, youth performing arts event staged annually by The Department of Education. CGEN provides state school students, teachers and school communities the opportunity to be involved in a professionally produced arena spectacle. CGEN will celebrate 20 years in July 2024, with an expectant cast of more than 1,900 students from across Queensland.

Your Role:
This role's average hours will be approximately 14 hours a week, including some weekend work. Hours during show week 15 July - 20 July 2024 may be up to 60 hours.
As the Rehearsal Assistant you will have responsibility for the following:
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with the Community Engagement and Events team and contractors to ensure the success of rehearsals.
- Liaise with teachers, parents, students and stakeholders to organise and deliver rehearsals. Rehearsals and performances will often be scheduled on weekends and outside of normal working hours
- Assist in the dissemination of project and event information to teachers, parents, students and key stakeholders.
- Perform any other duties as required by the production team for the successful delivery of CGEN and other programs delivered by the Community Engagement and Events Unit.
Rehearsal assistants will report directly to the category coordinators (vocal, instrumental, dance, drama, media) and are responsible for student safety at rehearsals, including supervising casts at rehearsals, assisting with repertoire queries and managing first aid incidents. Some rehearsal roles also have administrative requirements - experience with Microsoft Suite is desirable.

- a willingness to obtain first aid training (annual training provided)
- extensive experience in one arts discipline (vocal, instrumental, dance, drama)
- driver's license and access to a vehicle (desirable, not mandatory)
