The Business & Your Role 

Dolceroma, dolceroma.com.au, has been operating since 1998 and become known to be a trusted supplier of all things delicious in the food service industry. Dolceroma serves clubs, caterers and cafes in the greater Sydney region as well as local and national distributors with a vision to exceed expectations in providing a superior quality of product and service that meets individual needs. Committed to make, bake, decorate and distribute a range of delicious cakes and pastries, made with carefully selected ingredients by a truly passionate team.

The business has experienced significant growth in the past year and a critical position has become available in our Prestons office. You will be playing a vital part in our continued growth and smooth running of this team in your role, involving but not limited to: 

  • Acting as the Managing Director’s key on-site liaison, supporting seamless daily operations, ensuring cohesion and effective communication between the production team and administration
  • Engaging directly in our sales strategy, from leveraging our current database to identifying new growth opportunities
  • Excelling in digital platform sales and communication, leading our social media and email direct message initiatives
  • Providing comprehensive administrative support, including order processing, customer service and accounts reconciliation
  • Contributing to content development for print resources, social media and electronic direct mails (EDM)
  • Building and maintaining a robust operations database to streamline standard operating procedures 
  • Actively engaged in the planning and action of our 2024 pillars of growth in Team Culture, Customer Relationships and Production Efficiencies 

We are looking for someone to fill a full-time role, during standard business hours, 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday and will also consider a four-day week and/or flexible hours for the right person. At this stage we are not offering a work from home option. 

To join us, you will need:

  • Demonstrated organisational and administrative skills
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong customer service orientation
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence with the ability to foster and sustain positive relationships across diverse business areas, cultures, neurodiversity and professions
  • High level of computer literacy, ideally with experience in various cloud-based systems for accounting, sales, communications, planning and inventory management 
  • Proficiency in social media engagement and content creation
  • A self-motivated and ambitious work ethic that includes curiosity, integrity and loyalty 
  • A positive energy and commitment to our core values

Experience in the hospitality and food industry is an advantage but not essential, should you have other relevant experience, the right personality, desired traits and a strong willingness to learn. We hire based on culture fit first!
