Sunlover Reef Cruises operates daily from Cairns, travelling to our Great Barrier Reef pontoon at Moore Reef and Fitzroy Island. We offer a complete reef tourism experience, providing coral viewing tours, guided snorkel tours, scuba diving and other packages.
We currently have an opportunity for a Reservations Duty Manager (Relief) to join our reservations team.
If you have great attention to detail, exceptional customer service and can solve problems quickly and effectively, this could be the role for you! You will work closely with the Reservations Manager to ensure the successful, smooth and efficient operation of the Sunlover Reservations Department.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Supervising, motivating and training staff.
- Working closely with the Reservations Manager to support the reservations team.
- Working closely with Operations on the day-to-day running of the cruises.
- Work closely with Accounts for approval of invoices, daily banking issues, and any other requirements.
- Reporting to the Reservations Manager on all aspects of reservations and across all distribution channels.
- Together with the Reservations Manager, handle the resolution of all customer complaints.
- Handling group reservations.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to use own initiative and react quickly to shifting priorities.
- An ability to prioritise, delegate and manage role expectations.
Key criteria:
- Passion and positive attitude, with a focus on providing excellence in customer service.
- Fluency in written and spoken English, other languages would be an advantage.
- At least 2 years’ experience in tourism, hospitality or sales focused industry.
- Experience using the ‘Respax’ booking system OR previous experience in a supervisory/ management position.
This is a casual position (20-35 hours per week) across a set roster, working Tuesday-Saturday each week, including public holidays. Some flexibility for other dates would be needed to accommodate operational needs.
You must have the right to live and work in Australia for next 12+ months.
