Purpose of the Role
As distributed energy resources continues to play an important role in the Energy transition, we are seeking a Renewable Energy Graduate to join the Virtual Power Plant team. In this role, you will work with the asset hardware technologies and related software systems to understand and drive enhancements to the Virtual Power Plant (VPP) portfolio capabilities with a view to improving business value and operational outcomes.
Identify, evaluate and scope battery manufacturer solutions that meet customer, network and EA energy needs.
Work with product owners on a diverse offering of DER products that will meet a variety of use cases and monetisation opportunities.
Work with the OEMs to provide performance, security, customer, and operational improvements consistent with DER engineering / technology roadmaps, and product strategy.
Work with the VPP operations team to optimise the VPP portfolio performance.
How you can support the energy transition
This is an entry-level role ideal for a recent graduate (or someone who will soon be graduating) in engineering, computer science or mathematics degree as well as someone with a few years of experience and enthusiastic about participating in a distributed energy program of work; involving DER, wholesale electricity markets, battery and inverter products and services.
Demonstrated innovative approach to problem solving with a strong ability to formulate, synthesise and analyse unstructured complex problems to provide meaningful advice and insights.
Ability to communicate technically complex material to a wide variety of audiences and stakeholders.
Strong people skills with ability to work in a broadly skilled, cross-functional team.
Ability to be flexible and adaptable, to remain open to new ways of thinking and doing, to challenge respectfully and to be challenged.
