About the Role
ABC Regional Queensland is looking for a motivated reporter to make creative digital, audio and video stories for the local and national audience.
We’re a small, dynamic team who love the thrill of the chase and setting the day’s news agenda. You are creative, super organised, able to weave a good yarn and a social media whizz. You'll love coming to work and connecting with our audience in North Queensland.
Under routine direction of the Editor, and in collaboration with colleagues, you will:
Produce and present news bulletins, Q&A’s, interviews and packages across all platforms, including breaking stories.
Contribute to planning and commissioning processes to develop and distribute new content ideas.
Identify and develop local content that can be shared with other content teams in News and across the ABC on multiple platforms.

About You
If you have some editorial experience and can present local content to social media, mobile and across multiple platforms, come and join the Townsville team. You will be able to demonstrate:
A creative approach to storytelling, and accomplished experience in live presentation and broadcast.
Accomplished editorial skills including tight writing, accuracy, and thorough research.
Demonstrated understanding of the issues that affect and interest the local audience.
Good teamwork, flexibility, and sound editorial judgement.
