Located in Parliament House on North Terrace, the functions of the Parliament Research Library are to:
- Provide effective, efficient, and professional research and library services to Members of Parliament and their staff; and
- Liaise with staff within the Parliament, with government and its agencies, other libraries, external groups, and the broader research community in the provision of these services so that Members are able to effectively discharge their parliamentary duties.
About the role
This role is based within the Research Services section of the Parliamentary Library.
You will work with a wide variety of data from internal and external sources in order to assist Research Officers to produce interactive data visualisations for Members of Parliament and their staff.
Your duties will be to:
- Assist with sourcing datasets and evaluating them for data quality and integrity;
- Maintain a register of library dashboards, relevant data sources and refresh cycles;
- Prepare, cleanse and transform data within the scope of library’s data processing and end user requirements;
- Formulate queries in Excel and/or Power BI (Power Query) as directed;
- Maintain careful data transformation records.
About you
- You are curious and methodical.
- You have data transformation and analysis experience using advanced Excel, Power BI, R, or equivalent software.
- You have a good understanding of basic statistical concepts and how they affect data reliability.
- You will have an appreciation of the critical requirements of the Library to provide accurate, timely and impartial work for the Members of Parliament.

Remuneration:
ASO3 $66,590-$70,968
