About the Roles
The Research Assistant and the Research Associate will contribute to the research under the broad direction of the Head of the Lymphatic Development Laboratory in order to achieve defined objectives and test stated hypotheses.
The Research Fellow will implement and conduct high quality scientific research and report on research outcomes in line with research goals and milestones of the Lymphatic Development Laboratory, facilitating collaboration and translation of research findings.
The project involves using a broad range of developmental, cell and molecular biology techniques to understand how the growth, maturation and function of lymphatic vessels is regulated during development and disease.
About UniSA
The University of South Australia is Australia's University of Enterprise. Our culture of innovation is anchored around global and national links to academic, research and industry partners. Our graduates are the new urban professionals, global citizens at ease with the world and ready to create and respond to change. Our research is inventive and adventurous and we create new knowledge that is central to global economic and social prosperity.
The (CCB) is an alliance between the University of South Australia and the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) and is co-located with other cancer-focussed researchers within a purpose-built building in Adelaide's Biotech and Medical Precinct. The CCB studies the fundamental causes of cancer in order to find new ways to prevent and treat the disease and is a recognised hub for innovative science leading to breakthrough therapies.
The of the CCB undertakes research that aims to understand how the lymphatic vascular network is constructed during development. The Laboratory is interested in identifying and characterising genes that are important for regulating lymphatic vessel growth, maturation and function. By understanding how lymphatic vessel growth and development is normally controlled, they will gain new insight into how this process “goes wrong” in human disease and moreover, will be afforded the opportunity to rationally design novel therapeutics able to block or promote lymphatic vessel growth and/or function and thereby treat human lymphatic vascular disorders.
