Excellent Research Assistant opportunity in data analytics to support research in dietary behaviour
Base Salary $77,144- $93,362 (Pro rata 0.20 FTE) + 17% superannuation - salary will be commensurate with experience
About the opportunity
At Sydney Nursing School we are committed to the vital role that nurses, dietitians and other public health experts play throughout a person's life and strive to create research that improves patient experience with an impact on health policy.
An exciting opportunity is available for an early career researcher with a strong background in data analysis, social media analytics, and research methodologies to provide important data analytic support to research in dietary health. You will support Dr Rajshri Roy and her research team to achieve research objectives investigating digital marketing and social media opportunities for dietary behaviour change.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Use social media analytics tools, to gather, organize, and analyse data from various social media platforms, focusing on digital food marketing strategies
Implement and manage both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, including designing surveys, running focus groups, and interpreting results
Maintain academic and research records for the project(s), including project registers, EndNote libraries and publication registers
Assist in the preparation of research reports, including data visualisation, and contribute to the dissemination of findings through academic papers, presentations, or other relevant channels
Work closely with the research team and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle, and adhering to ethical research practices and data privacy guidelines
About you
hold Undergraduate degree in health-related area and/or relevant experience in related field. May have (or be working towards) postgraduate qualifications
interest and experience in data analysis and data management. Experience in social media analytics will be highly regarded
experience in a research-intensive environment or interest working in academia, including some expertise in using research protocols, ethics submissions, peer review publication preparation and grant applications using endnote, excel and other office applications
excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with day-to-day operational matters
ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work
demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work, sometimes under pressure, with competing priorities and sometimes limited supervision
experience using statistical software such as R or similar.
numeracy skills together with experience in controlling income/expenditure for reconciliation/budget
