About the Role
The is currently recruiting for Research Development Coordinator to join the team on a full-time, continuing basis. The accountability of this position relates specifically to the efficiency of the Faculty's research activities that enhance the Faculty's goal to be a world leader in impactful science and an innovative research powerhouse. The Research Development Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the Faculty's research funding applications and administration is of the highest quality.
The Research Development Coordinator is accountable to the Research Development Manager, with responsibility for ensuring overall support to the Associate Dean Research. This role will also implement faculty procedures (in line with UTS policy, procedure and guidelines) to support achievement of the Faculty's Research Objectives.
About You
You have research management experience and are highly organised. You possess strong communication abilities, and a solid work ethic.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Advise and work closely with researchers in the development of research proposals (contracts, grants, donations, tenders etc) including costing and pricing of projects, guidance on funding rules (liaising with Research Office or Advancement Office), and providing review and feedback on proposals
- Liaise with Discipline Leaders and other Faculty Research Leaders in support of the Research Development Manager and Faculty Research Engagement Manager to develop and submit competitive funding bids
- Management of team systems, sites and communications.
- Ensure the smooth administration of research funding proposal forms and processes, including clarifying who in the team is responsible for particular forms, and ensuring all team emails and matters are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Developing procedures, systems, and reporting mechanisms to monitor and implement Science Faculty or UTS (internal) research funding schemes
1. Able to prioritise with an ability to plan and develop appropriate workflow and procedures, proven project management skills to work within budgets, meet deadlines, encourage and motivate staff; and maximise results from limited resources.
2. Knowledge of research funding in Australia.
3. Degree or relevant experience in Science, Engineering or Medical Science and/or relevant experience in research management.
4. Demonstrated understanding of and experience in research management systems and processes in a tertiary environment.
5. Experience in writing academic policy and process documents for implementation across multiple schools and/or disciplines.

Remuneration and Benefits
Base Salary Range: $100,695 to $111,394 pa (HEW 7)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
