About the Role
The Ethics Team is an integral part of the Research and Education Group and is responsible for leading and influencing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander research, ethics and protocols. This includes the promotion of the Agencies Code of Ethics for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research and the management of the Secretariat function for the AIATSIS Research Ethics Committee, which is responsible for reviewing ethics applications and projects involving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander research.

The Research Officers within the Group conduct research to support projects, engage with communities and stakeholders, produce, and maintain useful resources, assist in holding forums and events, and contribute to innovative communication and publication outputs and reporting on outcomes.
Duties:
- Provide administrative support to the Ethics team, including management of the Ethics Mailbox, meeting and travel logistics
- Manage reporting, records and databases and routine financial processes.
- Provide support to the Secretariat Officer to the Research Ethics Committee including preparation of agenda items, preparation of meeting templates, setup of meetings, etc.
Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of administrative support services.
- A 'can-do' attitude and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment to achieve results, whilst managing demanding lead times and competing priorities
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise your workload and support other colleague to achieve business objectives
What's on offer.
The successful candidate will notionally be offered a 12month non-ongoing 12 month contract at the APS4 level . This position is based in Canberra.
As this role is with the Federal Government, only Australian citizens will be considered for this vacancy.
