About the Role
The Clinical Research Lead – Oncology is a new initiative for Grampians Health funded through the MRFF ReViTALISE program grant. The appointee will make a significant contribution to our cancer research capability by developing and undertaking research projects and quality improvement activities and providing a clinical leadership role for oncology clinical trials.
As a research-focussed clinician you will make significant contributions to the development and expansion of the cancer research program and trial portfolio at Grampians Health and to facilitate the activities outlined in the ReViTALISE program.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a clinical leadership and mentoring role in the continued growth of the oncology trials portfolio with a particular focus on equity of access for our community
- Build a local network of emerging leaders in cancer research and knowledge translation with strong links across services and organisations
- Assist the health service to efficiently translate research findings into program and practice change
- Provide career development and opportunities for early career clinician researchers
- Lead initiatives in community engagement in clinical trials
- Play a major role in building engagement around research with fellow clinicians and staff internally as will as industry and the local community.
Skills & Experience
- Current FRACP in Medical Oncology and post graduate qualification in the relevant discipline area or closely related research field
- As a research-focused clinician - established experience in clinical research and the leadership and training of others.
- Ethical scholar who values diversity and inclusion, demonstrates compassion and accountability
- Significant experience as a clinical trial investigator and excellent understanding of the National & International trial operating landscape
