The opportunity:

Are you a quintessential team player with a passion for problem-solving and collaboration? The Centre for Population Genomics is on the lookout for a dynamic Operations Lead to play a pivotal role in building and sustaining a healthy and supportive culture across our organisation.
 

As an operational builder, you'll thrive on performing gap analysis and implementing meaningful policies and processes. Comfortable in fast-moving environments, you're a pragmatist who prioritises flawless execution without losing sight of your ability to deliver. Your mission is to contribute to the growth of the Centre and support the team in making a significant impact on the lives of children affected by rare genetic diseases

This role is offered on a 3 year full time contract. 

About your new team
 

The Centre for Population Genomics has achieved remarkable success in its early funding stages. Now, as we continue to expand and operate across two distinct institutions. This role will be instrumental in implementing and managing operational best practices across multiple foundational domains.

Your responsibilities include:  

  • Oversee daily operations, leading the existing Operations team and facilitating their work to ensure the Centre functions efficiently and effectively
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director to understand the Centre’s organisational strategy and priorities, focusing on translating these into actionable operational plans
  • Monitor budgets and expenditure, providing insights and recommendations for cost management in a complicated funding environment
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness

What we need from you:
 

  • At least 5 years of experience in operations management & people leadership, including experience overseeing finance, people and culture, and governance frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience leading & problem solving in a remote-first environment
  • Outstanding people skills, proactive in communication, and capable of fostering relationships across departments
  • A genuine passion and enthusiasm for the Centre’s mission
