About the Role
Based within the Faculty Research Office, the Research Officer is part of a team responsible for coordinating the day-to-day administration of research-related activities, to ensure excellent administrative and operational support to the Faculty researchers. The Research Officer provides high quality administrative support for the Faculty's internal grant schemes, research governance and committee coordination and supports research communications and inductions, research profile building, as well as providing support to the team as required.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Coordinate and support the Faculty Research Governance cycle. Provide secretarial support to the various committees, working closely with senior academic research leaders across the Faculty, and organising reports and other key documents.
  • Support the administration of the Faculty's internal research funding programs, including pre and post advice and support, working in close collaboration with the relevant Faculty and University teams.
  • Provide administrative support to the Graduate Assistance Program, which provides employment opportunities to Faculty graduate researchers.
  • Support communication from the Faculty Research Office and contribute to marketing, promotions, and profiling of our research activity, working with local University Communications and Marketing team.
Who We Are Looking For
You will utilise your excellent communication skills to build and maintain strong positive working relationships. You will work autonomously as well as part of a small, high-performing team to achieve excellent and high-impact outcomes.
You will also have:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification, or a combination of relevant professional experience and education/training.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a specific focus on diplomacy, clarity and accuracy.
  • High-level interpersonal skills with a demonstrated commitment to excellent client service and the ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team and build strong working relationships.
  • Experience dealing with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders with different needs at different levels and with diverse backgrounds.

This position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check to ensure the University provides a safe environment for everyone.
