About the role
Research Officer is an integral member of the team that will undertake a research study designed to determine whether relocation of Ward 17 (psychogeriatric ward) from the RAMP wards to Rusty Priest Building had any impact on agitated and aggressive behaviours.
The Research Officer is an integral member of the research team with responsibilities to assist with, planning, implementation, coordination, data management and reporting of research projects conducted within the unit.
The Research Officer will have responsibilities across multiple projects at any given time across diverse areas. This will include assisting in the development and implementation of research protocols, ethics submission, project management, patient recruitment, data collection, data analysis and report writing.
The Research Officer will utilise their knowledge of clinical and health services research in the establishment and maintenance of productive working relationships with internal and external collaborators, departments and staff.
We are looking for someone who…
Holds a health related degree and/or experience in research, clinical trials or relevant experience.
Has excellent skills in quantitative or qualitative clinical / public health / health services research, including database management and basic statistical analysis skills.

This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
