Role Summary
The Care Manager is responsible for providing high quality clinical care for Residents within established policies, guidelines and procedures of our client. Specifically, in the following:
- To provide clinical leadership and first line supervision to Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Team Leaders and Care Service Employees including allocation of duties
- Manage systems that ensure staff can provide optimum levels of care, maximize funding income and operating within budget parameters and oversee the development of care plans.
- Work collaboratively with Registered and Enrolled Nurses and care service employees to provide quality clinical and care services to Residents in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures, ANMC Code of Ethics, Code of Professional Conduct and common law affecting nursing practice.
- Promote a culture of mutual respect, recognition, teamwork, innovation, quality service provision and acceptance of diversity
Responsibilities
- Assisting the Facility Manager in providing clinical direction and supervision to care service employees and Volunteers
- Assisting in the monitoring of performance of staff and Volunteers by identifying and reporting performance problems as they arise to the Facility Manager.
- Promote and monitor safe practices for staff, Residents, visitors and volunteers.
- Participate in the ongoing monitoring and review of WH & S practices
Knowledge and Skills
- Proven record for driving clinical excellence
- A capacity to create an aged care service environment that exemplifies the organisation`s mission and values.
- Sound understanding of the Aged Care Act 1997 and Principles
- Excellent understanding of the Aged Care Accreditation Standards and experience in managing compliance
- Competence in financial management including experience in managing claims for aged care subsidies and funding (ACFI)
- Current APHRA registration as a Registered Nurse
