POSITION OPEN
Sandringham have a position open in the Central Coast NSW for a Residential Support Worker (RSW) to provide care with our client. She is non-verbal, has an intellectual disability and suffers from frequent seizures.
She is happy and has a beautiful demeanour and is fun. She loves to go out and participate in the community, eat out, go for long walks and meet with others.
An RSW is responsible for implementing training and support services aimed at maximising the living, employment, social and recreational skills of young people with a disability. Community inclusion, independence, decision making and personal choice should be promoted through these supports, with a focus on individual needs. You will be required to complete detailed ddaily paperwork and keep a record of daily activities. Medications are required to be administered daily and emergency medication is occasionally required.
Specifically, this position is a full time casual and encompasses all aspects of living including personal care, grooming and hygiene; meal shopping and preparation; housekeeping and cleaning; bedding changes, laundry and ironing. Weekend availability for shifts is required on a rotating roster.
As an RSW, you will participate in all life aspects of the person or persons with a disability as if they are your own family member. This is a flexible position with occasional long shifts. This may be evenings, early mornings, overnight or weekend shifts.
The residence is located at Ettalong Beach. The successful applicant will joining a small team of dedicated female carers. Experience preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.
