Restaurant Manager (Full-time)

Mankee Yum Cha has been a proud family-owned and operated restaurant. Nestled in Balwyn North, we are focused on bringing the classic dishes of yum cha to all our customers. Aside from our iconic range of dumplings, our restaurant also serves delicious Hong Kong dishes including siu mai, glutinous rice, braised chicken feet, pork ribs, prawn rolls, turnip cakes as well as stir-fried noodles, and fried rice to name a few.

Since the return of normality post-pandemic, we have seen an influx of customers and tourists. To continue providing an amazing dining experience and delicious dishes to all our customers, we urgently seek an experienced Restaurant Manager to join our business who is passionate about the food industry and has experience in running a restaurant efficiently.  

For this awesome opportunity you will need:

• Have 2+ years of relevant experience in a busy restaurant will be highly preferred.
• A qualification in management and/or business preferred.
• Must have prior experience in a Chinese restaurant.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Fantastic communication skills.
• Ability to work under high pressure.
• Outstanding organisational and management skills.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Check stock levels and order supplies while consulting with the chefs regarding the planning of the menu and dishes.
• Arrange the purchasing and pricing of goods and stocks according to budget. 
• Coordinate the entire operation of the restaurant during scheduled shifts. 
• Train, supervise and manage staff and provide them with feedback.
• Ensure that all employees adhere to the company’s uniform standards. 
• Prepare reports at the end of the shift/week, including staff control, food control and sales. 
• Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety.
• Prepare cash drawers and provide petty cash as required. 
• Help in any area of the restaurant when circumstances dictate.
• Ensure dining facilities comply with health regulations and are clean, functional and of suitable appearance. 
• Greet customers, assist with order taking, and speak to them to assess their satisfaction with meals and service in the restaurant. 
• Respond to customer complaints.
• Coordinate and organise functions being held at the restaurant to ensure smooth running.

Remuneration: $70,000 - $80,000 per annum (plus 11% superannuation)
