Summerland Farm is located on a beautiful macadamia and avocado farm, set high on the hills of the Alstonville plateau overlooking the Ballina coastline. It is a major tourism attraction, with a working farm, restaurant, functions centre, packing and dehusking facilities. About the role:

You will be part of a dynamic and inclusive business enterprises team providing opportunities for people with disabilities to be employed alongside other skilled team members, to produce a high-quality restaurant service. The Restaurant Supervisor will support the Retail and Tourism Coordinator by overseeing the restaurant operations across front of house, including coordinating food service, successful delivery of operations of functions & events, working alongside the Head Chef to ensure the high quality of food & customer service and to ensure Summerland Farm's restaurant maintains a reputation for excellence and growth within the retail and tourism portfolio.

The Restaurant Supervisor will apply their experience and expertise in hospitality & leadership to achieve business growth and deliver consistent high-quality outcomes to exceed our customer expectations. The role will be responsible for all aspects restaurants front of house, including leading & training team leaders and Supported Employees, ordering & monthly stocktakes, casual staff recruitment and casual rostering, POS updating, employee wage assessments and communication with supports, implementing operations and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the creation of a fun and positive workplace culture, that respects and supports people with disabilities, flexibly and sensitively, to make Summerland Farm and Aruma an Employer of Choice for people with disabilities
  • Effectively led, inspire, and develop a diverse team to achieve business outcomes in conjunction with the kitchen and front of house.
  • Create a professional and pleasant dining experience for customers, ensuring meals are delivered to the customer table efficiently, and with professional courtesy.
  • Collaborate with Head Chef, Functions Team & FOH Team Leaders to ensure efficient daily operations, including ordering front of house stock, preparation prior to service, set up and pack down, prep & set up of weekly functions and events
  • Role model and monitor standards for food safety, quality and hygiene practices and procedures.
  • Led and coach front of house staff and employees to instil a positive team culture that facilitates cooperation and collaboration, reflecting our values, and producing effective team results
  • Receive excellent customer feedback on the quality of food and restaurant services that promote our business service and maintain our reputation as an excellent tourism and retail provider.
  • Achieve Business growth by consistently delivering exception customer service with contemporary product and service range

About You:
  • Demonstrated passion for quality food and beverage presentation
  • Sound experience in hospitality leadership appropriate to the role.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and ability to adapt to individual needs
  • Effective problem solving and technical skills to solve maintenance and
  • customer matters
  • Demonstrated understanding of food safety and WHS requirements
  • A high level of physical fitness to meet the physical requirements of the position
  • Qualifications in Certificate 3 in Hospitality and demonstrated experience in Front of House leadership & Supervision.
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts including weekends and nights for events as per hospitality industry requirements.
  • A current Australian driver's license
  • Have or be willing to complete a NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance, Police check and WWCC.
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate
  • Barista Certificate and/or equivalent experience

Nice to have's OR Desirable

  • Experience working with people with disabilities.
  • First Aid Certificate.
