The Fish Factory is excited to announce a job opportunity for a Retail Shop Assistant. Seeking to fill full-time employment, the successful candidate will have a passion for exceptional customer service. This role is offering a roster of 42.5 hours a week, with early morning starts! This opportunity is perfect for someone with that has attention to detail and likes early starts with early finishes! This role includes regular on-the-job training and genuine opportunities for career growth and upskilling. Your role

We are looking for a Retail Shop Assistant to join the team in our busy seafood retail market, on a fulltime basis. You will be equipped with strong communication skills, a positive attitude and willingness to learn! The successful candidate will have availability to work over weekends and be responsible for morning set-up. Reporting to the General Manager, daily duties as a Shop Assistant include: 

• Fulfilment of customer walk-in orders and processing of payments.
• Product enquiries and general customer service.
• Set up and/or shut down of market. 
• Assistance with daily stocktake and rotation of stick for FIFO purposes. 
• General shop duties where required. 

About You

In conjunction with strong characteristic attributes, the successful candidate will have: 

• Retail industry experience,
• A genuine passion for customer service; being approachable and confident with customers,
• Knowledge, qualification and/or application of training in food safety & hygiene standards,
• Ability to work in a busy environment, and under pressure,
• Ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude, 
• Champion of a safe working environment,
• Excellent personal hygiene and presentation, 
• Strong work ethic.
