About the role
The purpose of this role is to provide an effective and efficient function for the collection and recovery of monies for Metro North Hospital and Health Service.
In addition, maintain required skills and knowledge to perform the duties of other equivalent position levels within Financial Control Services, Metro North Hospital and Health Service.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- High level of knowledge of, billing processes, legislative frameworks, finance related policies, procedures and practices and funding within a hospital environment.
- Demonstrated high level oral and presentation skills and written communication with effective interpersonal skills, including negotiation and influencing others; advising management; and communication with all levels of staff and external stakeholders.
- Skills and abilities applicable to audits and account generation including the use of computerised accounting systems, patient information systems, morbidity reporting systems, Microsoft package applications and how to apply these skills in the input, extraction and preparation of data for invoicing, payment and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently, meet deadlines, prioritise workflows, work autonomously or in a team environment.
- Comply with and utilise procedures, policies, regulations, and standards which impact upon the position, including contemporary Human Resource Management requirements and practices, such as Workplace Health and Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity, Code of Conduct and Anti-Discrimination policies.
