About the role
Join us as a Risk Manager at Transurban, where you will play a vital role in leading and partnering with the business, our operations, and projects in implementing our risk management activities to ensure a consistent and effective execution.
Working closely with the Head of Risk, you'll provide strategic leadership and direction for risk across the business, including assistance in developing and implementing the risk maturity strategy for our VIC business portfolio and the integration of our West Gate Tunnel asset into our business. This includes supporting the embedding of a truly integrated Enterprise Risk Management approach to enhance stakeholder value and optimise security holder value.
You’ll join an innovative team who work in collaboration with stakeholders at all levels across the business to guide and challenge them in the application of the risk management framework.

Day-to-day, you will:
Engage with and Support the Head of Risk- Corporate and Strategic insights to provide the Victorian business with strategic leadership and direction for risk across the Vic business.
Engage with and advise the VIC Leadership Team and front-line asset management teams on all risk related matters, providing support and assistance in the roll-out of risk and governance activities
Assist with the development and implementation of the risk maturity strategy across Transurban
Drive and support the implementation and embedding of the Transurban Enterprise Risk Management framework
Deliver continuous improvement in risk data quality and analytics to drive enhanced assurance, management insight and risk-based decisions.
Review and challenge business considerations and decisions about their risk profile and control environments through deep subject matter expertise, learned experience and a focus on outcomes
Develop and deliver data analytics, reporting and insights and reporting on risk performance across VIC business
Facilitate risk workshops and deliver risk management training to the business
Develop and foster key relationships across the Victorian business
Have exposure to our function’s other teams spanning across business resilience, compliance and privacy.
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:
A minimum of 7 years experience in a commercial and risk environment including appropriate risk and compliance management experience
Proven experience in the transport, construction, engineering or infrastructure industries
Experience delivering Governance, Risk and Compliance programs
Ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders within different levels of the organisation
An understanding of corporate and trust practices, principles and systems
Ability to review, implement and manage effective data management and information systems
Ability to ‘see the bigger picture’
Strong commercial, customer service and relationship skills
Well-developed technical, negotiation and advisory skills
Ability to clearly communicate with and establish credibility and rapport with people at all levels within the organisation
