About the role
Laing O’Rourke has recently been appointed as Managing Contractor for the Initial Works and Early Works package of Suburban Rail Loop; the huge package of works includes preparing sites for the launch of tunnel boring machines, moving and protecting underground services, ground improvement, geotechnical investigations and roads modifications for this city-shaping project.
We are currently seeking a Risk, Quality and Completions Manager to join our team on the Suburban Rail Loop Early and Initial Works Project. This is your opportunity to join a privately-owned Tier 1 constructor and International Engineering Enterprise.
Key responsibilities
- Managing the R&O process, including supporting Project Director to drive R&O, assign accountability to the right team member, and proactively manage close out
- Ensuring the quality management system requirements are understood and implemented across the MC works
- Ensuring the requirements for the completions and handover of new/modified assets to relevant stakeholders/asset owners meet the contractual obligations within the Contract. Starting with the end in mind will support efficient delivery and handover of the works.
- Manage the R&O process, including supporting Project Director to drive R&O, assign accountability to the right team member, and proactively manage close out
- Oversee the implementation of the risk and opportunity management system for the MC
- Establish a proactive quality culture with targeted KPIs for the MC and subcontractors
- Oversee implementation of Laing O'Rourke's Six Pillar Strategy for successful quality implementation and progressive, on-time completions and handover
- Provide leadership for the quality function and implement the full requirement of the LOR iGMS Quality Management System in accordance with the Quality Management Plan (QMP) and in compliance with the ISO 9001Quality management systems requirements
- Provide training to the MC Team to ensure understanding of the requirement of the Completions and Handover and Testing and Commissioning Management Plans
- Ensure the Requirements Specification Register is active on the Project and informs the structure of the Completions Framework in the Springboard digital system
About you
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar Management role
- Sound knowledge of Australian Standards, Industry Codes and Procedures.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Previous experience with Project Document Management Systems.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Qualifications: Cert of Attainment in Quality Management or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar, and Lead Quality Auditor Qualification.
