The Role
Our rostering team is growing and we are looking for an experienced Rostering Officer to join in our team. This new role will be responsible for creating and managing the rosters for our clients and staff using our client management software system.
The role will require you to have exceptional skills in the rostering of staff including backfilling shifts with an ability to match employee skill with customer needs.
The Rostering Officer will provide rostering support to a wide range of disability services across Canberra and Brisbane. This position is responsible for providing day to day operational staffing and roster management to ensure continuity and consistency for participants and support staff.
To be successful for this position you will require.
- Experience in creating and maintaining rosters
- An in-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to quickly learn computer programs
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ensure allocated shifts are in accordance with individual contracted hours
- Ensure that rosters are consistently staffed to a high-level and manage daily roster variations
- Create and manage Master Rosters and Co-ordinating day-to-day rostering requirements across sites;
- Escalate any shifts that are unable to be filled and/or service issues within appropriate time frames and procedures;
- Ability to quickly form relationships and work within a team environment
- Ability to work towards strict deadlines

- Monitor staff restrictions to ensure compliance
- Ensure that rostering guidelines, payroll, and HR processes are adhered to
- Liaise with staff on rostering queries
Essential for this Role
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of rostering and scheduling processes
- Experienced in supporting staffing and associated HR requirements
- Good knowledge and understanding of the NDIS
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work in a highly productive, fast paced environment
- Sound verbal and written communication skills
- Highly developed computer literacy
- Minimum two years’ experience in disability/aged care, rostering and administration (desirable however not essential)
- Valid work rights in Australia
- Current National Police Check (within 12 months validity), (or be prepared to obtain)
- Demonstrated experience/knowledge in working with people with disability
- Be comfortable working independently as well as an active team member
