What you will be doing:
An opportunity has become available for qualified Pharmacist Grade 1/2 to join the Nepean Pharmacy team. The Nepean Pharmacy department provides a comprehensive pharmacy service to patients during their admission to hospital and for those attending outpatient clinics. The dedicated pharmacy team work collaboratively to provide medications in a safe and timely manner with a focus on patient-centred care. As part of the Nepean Hospital Redevelopment strategy, the pharmacy team is preparing to move to their new premises. This brand-new location has increased capacity to accommodate the growing team, and upgraded facilities will assist in further enhancement of Pharmacy services provision for the Nepean Hospital campus.
Your role as Pharmacist will involve:
- The provision of clinical pharmacy services by becoming an active member of the patient care team and enhancing patient care processes and medication safety, by assuring best practice in therapeutics and medication accuracy at transitions of care (at admission to hospital, during inpatient care and discharge from hospital), and through liaison and active interaction with community pharmacists and general practitioners
- Providing pharmacy afterhours and on call services and participate in the afternoon shift on a rostered basis
Ensuring prescriptions are processed in an orderly and efficient manner in accordance with practice standards set by the department

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection Criteria to be addressed: * Tertiary qualifications in Pharmacy and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated post graduate clinical experience in a health care setting
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritise workloads, work independently and within an inter-professional team environment
- Demonstrated high level of organisational and time management skills
- Record of ongoing professional development
- Computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and/or Access) and Pharmacy Inventory and Dispensing programs
