Established by the University of New England (UNE), we are a regional Registered Training Organisation (RTO) with more than one hundred staff and educational consultants based in Armidale (NSW) and around Australia.
The opportunity:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Educator to provide engaging and effective teaching and assessment support for learners undertaking the Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance (HLT33021).
The Educator will deliver weekly learning content and assessment guidance sessions in a classroom environment during school terms and be available for individual support via phone, email and online during agreed hours.
Based at schools within the Auburn and Alexandria regions of Sydney, our learners are completing this course as part of their HSC studies.
This position is part time (2-3 days a week negotiable for the right candidate) on a fixed-term contract until September 2025.
The successful candidate must be available to work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during school Term to attend weekly sessions.
Location is flexible within the Sydney metropolitan area on a hybrid working arrangement – work from home when not working at the schools.
Key responsibilities:
Plan, prepare and deliver face to face training sessions based on UNE Partnerships content.
Assess student work in accordance with UNE Partnerships assessment guidelines.
Initiate contact with Tier 2 (at risk) students on a regular basis to review progress and assist them to overcome barriers to completion.
Develop, implement and monitor Learning Support Plans for students with diverse needs.
Work with the Program Manager and other stakeholders including but not limited to our clients, our student services team to ensure successful delivery of the program in a professional manner.
Evaluate the support needs of cohorts and work with the Program Manager and Academic Director to develop and implement systems to meet these needs, to ensure student success and completion.
Contribute to the development and improvement of UNEP training and assessment strategies.
Requirements:
Current TAE40116 Cert IV in Training and Assessment and/or a higher qualification in the field of Adult or Vocational Education.
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA).
Current Working With Children’s Check (WWCC).
Experience in delivery and assessment of VET programs to individuals and groups.
Demonstrated understanding of adult learning principles and engagement strategies to support online learners.
Current industry experience working in an Allied Health setting.
Competency in using Learning Management Systems (such as Moodle) and video conferencing or virtual classroom systems (such as Zoom).
Excellent time management and ability to prioritise tasks.
