Contribute to ensuring South Australian children receive the early start they deserve and help build the foundations for them to thrive.
One of the top priorities of the South Australian Government is lifting the outcomes of the state’s young children, through a full suite of nation-leading early childhood reforms. This includes the introduction of universal three-year-old preschool and up to 30 hours of preschool for three and four-year-olds at risk of developmental vulnerability. The inception of the Office for Early Childhood Development (OECD) and its clear mandate to implement the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) is to ensure a fairer and better future for all children in South Australia.
The Royal Commission into ECEC handed down multiple recommendations at its conclusion with one of the most pressing challenges to grow and support the early childhood workforce. The newly created role of Executive Director, Workforce Reform will join the CEO and executive leadership team as stewards for the early childhood sector.
As Executive Director, Workforce Reform you will provide sector-wide leadership to address this and other critical workforce related recommendations through the development and implementation of strategies, programs, policies and projects across the sector, with particular emphasis on underserved areas. You will utilise the Early Childhood Workforce Fund to improve attraction, retention, training and development to build a sustainable and long-term early years workforce. You will provide strategic advice to the State Government and be actively engaged in national / intergovernmental processes.
You’ll bring high level leadership capability and Workforce Reform subject matter expertise combined with strategic thinking, superior communications skills at all levels including the ability to influence key industry groups, government and union stakeholders. A committed and progressive leader, familiarity with early childhood policies, regulations and funding mechanisms is desirable, but not essential.
Contribute to ensuring South Australian children receive the early start they deserve and help build the foundations for them to thrive throughout their lives.
