Reporting to the State Manager (QLD), key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining up-to-date records of OH&S incidents, overseeing training databases, ensuring safe procedures, and managing safety documents, including material safety data sheets, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
- Promoting safety, coordinating return-to-work programs, assisting with first aid, investigating incidents, and maintaining Workcover relationships while staying updated on legal changes.
- Developing regular audits, maintaining records, assisting with Stratco audits, providing activity summaries, and managing compliance with HIS, racking, and plant registration.
- Ensuring compliance with OH&S manual and local laws, staying informed about changes, and leading divisional committee meetings.
- Conducting induction and coordinating consistent training, ensuring understanding of OH&S obligations, and providing training on safe procedures and safety topics.
- Coordinating mental health initiatives, developing wellbeing programs, managing mental health, and providing training, First Aid, Fire Wardens, and hygiene testing.
- Maintaining job dictionaries, safety boards, posters, and current medical results.
Ideally, you will hold a Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety with a background in Safety-related roles, particularly in fields like manufacturing, logistics, or construction. You will bring strong analytical skills, effective project management and change management focus, and leadership qualities that prioritise team collaboration as well as exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for engaging key stakeholders. High computer literacy, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, is a significant asset.
