Part-Time Safety Officer

Location: Newcastle, Hunter Region

Responsibilities:

Conduct regular inspections of the workplace to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Provide safety training to employees on topics such as emergency procedures, hazard recognition, and proper equipment usage.

Investigate accidents and near-misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Maintain records of safety inspections, trainings, and incidents.

Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.

Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role.

Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
