Council is seeking the services of an experienced Work Health Safety & Risk Officer.
Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure and Planning Services, the Work Health Safety & Risk Officer is responsible for ensuring Council’s compliance with WHS legislation, associated acts, regulations, codes of practice and Australian standards, to help mitigate risk.
Some duties include:
- Maintain and Review Council’s WHS, Risk Management systems, frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Facilitate all requirements and reporting for WHS Committee meetings.
- Maintain Council’s Vault program, reporting and implementation of further applications.
- Manage Contractor and Volunteer registers and the induction process.
- Liaise with contractors and consultants to conduct workplace inspections, testing and training.
Experience in and/or an understanding of legislation relating to WHS & Risk management in a Local Government, or other community, or service delivery focussed setting would be ideal.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, strong computer literacy and the ability to work as part of a close knit and collaborative team is essential.
