The purpose of this position is to contribute to the effective implementation of proactive systems to prevent work related injury and illness. Safety Officers work closely with management and staff to ensure a coordinated approach to identifying and managing work health and safety risks. They are responsible for supporting knowledge, understanding and compliance with relevant legislation and best practice in work health and safety. Generous remuneration package value up to $55,426 p.a. comprising: Salary range of $44.47 to $49.00 p.h. (AO4) Annual leave with 17.5% loading 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation. Skills and experience: Working knowledge of work health and safety legislative framework and the ability to apply in practice to maintain an effective safety management system Experience in conducting work health and safety audits, investigations, risk assessments, and well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills to identify risks and causative factors leading to flexible, responsive, client focused solutions. High level written communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation and consultation, and a proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
