AWS is looking for an experienced and passionate Safety, Training and Admin Coordinator to provide support and guidance to our Prestons team.
About the role
The following outlines some of the core tasks for this position:
- Coordinate the WHS & Compliance activities of the site.
- Partner with, consult and support the Managers, Supervisors & Workers with WHS safety management system requirements and initiatives.
- Complete reporting and analysis of WHS / injury statistics.
- Conduct new employee site and WHS inductions.
- Lead and support incident investigations.
- Conduct / review risk assessments.
- Return to Work (RTW) coordinator for the site.
- Ensure AWS workforce has WHS and compliance skills and knowledge through learning and development by developing and maintaining competency-based training.
- Create, implement, update, maintain and review all WHS documentation including legislative requirements.
- Assist with other Safety, Training and HR projects as required.
- Provide support to other team members, fabricator services, and national AWS working groups as requested.
About you
To be the right person for this position you will have experience as a safety officer and/or coordinator. You will also have an understanding of HR and current employment legislation. The following skills profile is expected:
- Certificate IV / Diploma in WH&S
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment (would be advantageous)
- Certificate in Return-to-Work Co-ordination
- Strong computer skills - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong team player who can produce exemplary results when working independently on projects.
- Demonstrates initiative and the ability to respond to time-sensitive situations, along with discretion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
This position is a permanent part-time role of 25 hours per week over 5 days, preferably 9am to 2pm Monday to Friday.
