Sales Consultant - The Art Of Dr Seuss Gallery Qvb

Dr Theodore Geisel aka Dr Seuss is one the most eminent and revered artists of the 20th century. His work is loved and admired by millions of people across the world. The Art of Dr Seuss Gallery showcases the legacy of this visionary artist and shares it with the public.

Located in the beautiful QVB, we are searching for a committed and focused Sales Consultant to promote the unique and iconic works of Dr Seuss and keep the gallery running smoothly, but with the sense of fun, energy and whimsy that Dr Seuss is so well known for.

The position is multi-faceted. It requires a high level of organisation and adherence to procedure but, like The Artof Dr Seuss is also very dynamic and interesting. This role is for someone who is looking for a career with a strong sales focus in The Arts and creative industry. You will be supported by a friendly and encouraging team from one of Australia’s leading commercial art galleries.  

Duties include:

• promoting and selling artwork, through both the storefront and database contacts.
• developing client lists by notifying potential clients of particular works according to their interests.
• extending the client database.
• ensuring the smooth running of the gallery.
• curating The Artwork and keeping the gallery pristine and attractive.
• ensuring customers and collectors have a fun and memorable experience through wonderful customer service.
• assisting operations and administrative staff with arranging despatch and framing.
• sharing your knowledge and passion for art, and the Art of Seuss, with visitors to the gallery.

What’s needed:

• Experience in sales.
• Ability to meet and exceed KPIs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Great personal presentation.
• A passion for working collaboratively with clients and colleagues in The Arts.
• Goal orientated, proactive and self-sufficient.
• Competent computer skills (Mac & Microsoft Suite).
• Ability to work weekends.
• Ability to manage a gallery space.
• General administration and record keeping skills.
• Willingness to embrace Dr Seuss and learn about him and his legacy.
• Fun-loving and energetic!

The role has a basic salary + generous team bonus.
