ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client, a thriving 100% family-owned and fabricated organisation in the manufacturing sector, is expanding their team and is currently seeking a skilled 'Sales Engineer’ to join them. This is a newly created role with an opportunity to work on challenging and rewarding projects in the transport and agriculture industries.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a newly created role and an opportunity to make your mark. You will be a vital contributor, playing a crucial role in connecting the technical facets of our client’s ‘trailer’ design with the specific requirements of their customers. This position is fundamental to our client’s commitment to delivering tailored solutions to their clients predominately in the agriculture and transportation industries. 

Your key areas of responsibility will include: 

  • Act as the main point of contact for customers, ensuring their needs are clearly understood and effectively communicated to the Sales and Engineering teams.
  • Collaborate closely with the Engineering team to develop trailer designs that meet customer specifications, using technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
  • Support your Sales team by providing valuable technical insights to improve customer engagement and sales strategies.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to build relationships, gather insights, and ensure alignment with our client’s solutions.
  • Assist in quality assurance by reviewing work before production and applying value engineering principles to optimise solutions.

PBS (Performance Based Solutions) Responsibilities:

  • Oversee PBS design approval and maintain a comprehensive information database.
  • Manage the quotation and review process for all PBS certifications and assist in scheduling PBS projects.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and clients for end-of-line certification of PBS vehicle combinations.
  • Facilitate customer handover during delivery, including inspections and approvals.
  • Collaborate with your team to generate GA (General Arrangement) - drawing based on the information provided in the quote sheet.

Your dedication is evident in your adaptability, versatility, and readiness to take on difficult tasks as our client strives to improve the customer experience through innovation.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Previous experience in trailer design or related technical fields.
  • Possession of relevant engineering or design qualifications.
  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders, particularly in transportation and agriculture sectors.
  • Methodical approach to effectively position company products in competitive markets.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
  • Collaborative mindset conducive to effective teamwork.
  • Proven track record of ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Effective collaboration with Design and Sales teams.
  • Creative thinker capable of contributing to innovative concepts in trailer design.
  • Ability to accurately interpret and communicate customer requirements.
  • Demonstrated commitment and drive in achieving sales goals.
