Sales Engineer

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sales Engineer to join our dynamic team based in Brighton, Melbourne.
Reporting to the Managing Director of this multinational German company, this position will see you serve as a primary point of contact for our established customers for various industrial machinery within our wood-based panels processing portfolio. You shall be responsible for the development of machinery and project sales in the wood processing sector throughout Australia and New Zealand and providing support to the after sales and service teams. By the servicing of new and existing customers you will strive to grow market share and profitability throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Your strong technical aptitude, strong drive, attention to detail, enthusiasm and excellent people skills will allow flexibility to liaise with a variety of clients and suppliers across different industrial market sectors and with our German headquarters.
You will be results driven and have a demonstrated business acumen, with a sound knowledge of business development and relationship building. Together with your exceptional organisational skills you will draw energy from being part of our global team.
To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Industrial machine sales
- Proven ability to achieve sales quotas
- Extensive experience in all aspects of relationship management (internal and external)
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- The ability to work effectively with minimum supervision
- Strong level of computer literacy in AutoCAD, MS Office, CRM and MS Dynamics Navision (or similar ERP systems)
- Drive and determination to provide exceptional customer service
- Brilliant communication and interpersonal skills
- Self starter with the ability to develop client relationships and provide customised technical solutions
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Interstate and overseas travel will be required for this role.
