We’re seeking a passionate and motivated Mechanical Engineering graduate to join our sales team. The ideal graduate will possess a strong technical understanding of mechanical systems and components, combined with exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills.
As our Sales Engineer, you’ll be responsible for turning client componentry dreams into reality – offering design and manufacturing excellence in the pursuit of tangible product deliverables to fulfil and succeed customer requirements, on time and on budget.
Specifically, you will liaise and negotiate with industry clientele daily, quoting and designing custom componentry lines based on client requirements and production capacities within WASCA.
Between these duties, you’ll assist the broader sales team by providing sales processing support, updating and revising technical documentation, and assisting production and purchasing in all QA and testing as required.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct technical presentations and demonstrations to prospective clients, highlighting the value proposition of our products and solutions.
- Develop customised engineering solutions tailored to meet the specific needs and requirements of clients.
- Prepare and deliver technical proposals, quotations, and bids in response to customer inquiries.
- Act as a liaison between the sales, procurement and engineering teams; providing technical expertise and support throughout the sales cycle.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business objectives and challenges to effectively position our products and services.
- Stay current on manufacturing trends, market dynamics, and competitor offerings to inform sales and engineering strategies.
What we’re looking for:
- A recent Mechanical Engineering graduate, with strong academic outcomes.
- Previous experience in a high paced customer facing role would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, components, manufacturing processes and engineering principles; a willingness to learn and adapt to WASCA’s processes and products.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong organisational skills with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
- Experience in Fusion 360 highly desirable.
