About the Opportunity
Established in 1929, this privately-owned German-based company operates in over 25 countries and turns-over $200M+ Euro annually. They’re best known for manufacturing high quality pumps (rotary lobe, progressive cavity, centrifugal, etc.) and pump systems, macerators, grinders, solid matter feeders, as well as separation, disintegration and spreading technology.
They service a host of industries, including: agriculture, biogas, wastewater, transportation, food and beverage manufacturing, mining, oil & gas, chemicals manufacture and more.
A leader globally, their products are technically-superior but not widely known here in ANZ. They’ve had a strong technical / service presence in the region for decades but, till now, have done little to no outbound / direct to market sales - largely reacting to inbound enquiry, repeat business and distribution partners in that time.
The ANZ-region now represents one of the company’s highest growth markets - particularly in the areas of Biogas, Mining, Agriculture and Wastewater Management.
To realise the region’s 2-3x growth potential, a new Australian MD with ample local market experience has been appointed and the company’s first, direct-to-market, ANZ field sales team is currently being assembled.
About the Role
As their QLD-based Sales Engineer / BDM, you’ll cover a QLD, NT and Northern NSW territory. You’ll report to a Sydney-based MD and work from your home-based office.
Deal values can range from $3K-$5K for spare parts and maintenance requests, $20K-$100K for units and $75K-$200K+ for project work. With sales cycles on larger deals taking anywhere from 3 to 12+ months, you’ll work toward realistic sales targets in years 1 and 2 as you ramp up in the role.
Excellent induction and ongoing product training will be provided. Short-term career advancement opportunity is also available for the right candidate, as an ANZ Sales Manager role will likely become available within the next 12-18 months.
About You
To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring:
- 3+ years’ Technical Sales experience, ideally in a related field
- A background in Biogas and/or Wastewater Management solutions sales is advantageous, though not required
- A relevant Engineering Degree is also advantageous, though not required as excellent local and international Engineering resources are available
- Intangibly, you are upbeat / positive with a can-do attitude, self-motivated, professional, operate autonomously and naturally hungry to seek out and maximise new sales opportunities across your territory.
