Position: Sales Manager with Commercial Sales Responsibilities
Job Summary: This role is a dual role.
- Sales Manager
- Commercial Sales Representative
The Sales Manager is responsible for ensuring the consumer encounters the ‘greatest customer experience’ throughout the sales process.
The Sales Manager will drive revenue growth by exceeding company sales targets, improve conversion rates and introduce efficiencies throughout the sales process.
The Sales Managers role involves planning, and executing sales systems and processes, as well as providing coaching and guidance to develop a quality sales team.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Five or more years of experience in managing high performing sales teams
- Proven record of success with the entire sales process, from planning to closing
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Superb leadership ability
Desirable:
- Experience in the fencing and gate industry.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to refine sales strategies and the Fencemakers Customer Experience.
- Team Leadership and Management:
- Recruit, train, and onboard sales team members.
- Spend considerable time ‘on the road’, reviewing the sales team.
- Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Motivate, mentor, and coach the sales team to achieve individual and team goals.
- Sales Planning and Forecasting:
- Exceed annual and quarterly sales targets.
- Review sales performance against targets and adjust strategies as necessary.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts to senior management.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners.
- Address customer concerns, inquiries, and issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Ensure the consumer has the ‘greatest customer experience’.
- Sales Process Optimization:
- Streamline and optimize the sales process for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Implement (together with management) an enterprise resource planning software (ERP) to meet or exceed revenue and profit targets.
- Identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement within the sales funnel.
- Sales Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate and analyse sales reports to track performance and identify trends.
- Present sales data and insights to senior management.
- Utilize data to make informed decisions and adjustments to sales strategies.
- Sales Training and Development:
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for the sales team.
- Keep the team informed about product updates, industry trends, and competitive intelligence.
- Sales Communication:
- Foster effective communication within the sales team and with production, and senior management.
- Coordinate with marketing, product development, and customer support to align efforts and achieve common goals.
- Compliance and Ethics:
- Ensure the sales team operates in compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
- Promote a culture of integrity, safety and professionalism.
- Performance Metrics:
- Exceed quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Improve sales team productivity and effectiveness.
- Commercial Sales:
- Actively seek out and identify potential customers. Develop a pipeline of qualified leads to pursue for potential sales opportunities.
- Build and maintain customer relationships.
- Negotiate sales terms, pricing, and contractual agreements in accordance with company policies and guidelines.
- Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner.
