We have an exciting new Sales opportunity in the role of Victorian State Manager to join our growing business.
The Role
As the Victorian State Manager you will manage AL-KO’s sales activity in the Southern Region (Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, and Tasmania) in line with the company’s budgets and targets
Build a well-motivated and professional sales team to service the Southern area, whilst also supporting the overall Sales function of the AU/NZ SBU
Contribute to the delivery of excellent customer experience
What will you do…
- Lead and motivate the Southern Region team members including regional distributors to achieve monthly and annual sales budgets in line with set profit targets
- Train and develop direct sales reports and distributors to ensure they have sufficient technical and product knowledge to maximise revenue and profit opportunities
- Develop and maintain effective relationships between sales team, customer service team and warehouse team
- Develop and maintain systems to support sales activities and warehouse operations.
- Manage Southern Region interstate customer visits and call cycles in accordance with company expectations
- Collect and manage quality market intelligence, including attending strategic meetings with customers and stakeholders to maintain strong relationships and excellent customer experience
- Manage the extension of existing markets and development of new markets and focus sales representative’s efforts in this area
- Assist direct reports to leverage their customer relationships within the company eg: debt collection, production lead times, etc
- Ensure customer issues are escalated promptly and resolved effectively, with timely feedback to the customer
- Support Marketing with the planning and resourcing of promotions, exhibitions, tradeshows
- Contribute to and maintain effective working relationships with other functions and departments including but not limited to Finance, Innovation, Marketing, Operations, People and Culture
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting from direct reports
- Submit accurate and timely reports to Executive management as directed
- Undertake duties and ensure work complies with safe work practices, policies and procedures relevant to the task being carried out
Who are we looking for…
We are looking for a candidate who can meet the following critera:
- Seasoned Sales Manager:
- Minimum of 5 years previous experience within a senior sales role
- Minimum of 3 years previous experience managing a team of sales employees
- High level of commercial acumen
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, the ability to build relationships with various internal & external stakeholder
- Ability to interpret and apply market intelligence to commercialise opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to work diligently and enthusiastically with minimal supervision in order to meet desired outcomes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry specific legislation, standards, products, and application.
- Ability to apply critical thinking and effective problem-solving skills to resolve issues.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to team effectiveness and cross-functional effectiveness.
- Ability to travel within the Southern region, often at short notice
- Full clean driving licence
