About the role:
Reporting to the Laboratory Sampling Supervisor, the Sampling Officer will be responsible for field testing and the collection of water, wastewater, recycled water, and environmental water samples for analyses by our laboratory teams. This is a rare opportunity to work in modern, NATA accredited water laboratories, that play a crucial role in assuring the quality of water Unitywater provides. You will also play a role in calibration of field-testing equipment, data entry, LIMS, and quality control checking of results.
About you:
To contribute to Unitywater’s values of Reliability, Safety, Honesty & Integrity, Efficiency, One Team, Innovation, you will demonstrate the following skills and qualities for the role:
- A certificate in Laboratory Techniques, Environmental Science, a Sampling Officers course, or equivalent from a recognised educational institution.
- Demonstrated skills and experience with sampling techniques and procedures and field testing procedures.
- Knowledge of routine laboratory processes and the ability to use and maintain laboratory equipment for the purposes of sampling or basic analytical procedures.
- Ability to liaise and interact with customers with a high standard of oral communication.
- Computer skills with emphasis on data entry and basic data manipulation.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and successfully work within and contribute to a cohesive environment.
- Current open Class C drivers’ licence is mandatory.
- Current boat licence (or the ability to obtain one).
