The CHW Redevelopment Facilities Coordinator functions as part of the Corporate Services & Facilities Management team at Children’s Hospital at Westmead (CHW).
This position will be responsible for the coordination of subject matter expert support, delivered as part of the Redevelopment of the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, and internal capital improvement projects. The role will assist the SCHN Redevelopment team through pre-construction and construction; and liaise with relevant stakeholders through commissioning, to ensure the safe occupation and use of new facilities for staff, patients, and families.
The position will support and provide technical guidance to project teams involved in construction and refurbishment and will report to the Corporate Services Manager, CHW.
- Relevant tertiary qualification, or relevant equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience in Health or Project Management in the context of construction delivery in a live hospital environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the Mandatory Regulations pertaining to the Hospital environment including the Australasian Health Facility Guidelines, Building Code of Australia and Fire Regulations/ Codes.
- Substantial knowledge and practical experience related to managing multiple strategic projects concurrently, with varying timeframes and workloads, in a high volume and autonomous work environment.
- Well-developed written and oral communications skills, with the ability to develop strong working relationships with the project team, management, and key stakeholders. Highly developed interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to provide high level management and coordination in a health setting.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills and ability to prioritise to meet defined time frames across multiple projects.
- Ability to display significant initiative, sound judgement, and reliable leadership and management in carrying out the requirements of the position.
