School Health Nurse - Western Australia - Permanent Role

Are you a Registered Nurse looking for an adventurous opportunity in Western Australia? We are seeking a dedicated School Health Nurse to join a fantastic Aboriginal Health Service, offering a 12-month full-time position.

• Up to $101,000.00 per annum + 11% superannuation

Responsibilities

• Engaging with community members and supporting parents in improving the identified health needs of their children
• Focusing on the healthcare needs of Aboriginal clients within the context of their cultural identity and social circumstances.
• Delivering comprehensive School Health services, including health and development assessments for school-aged children.
• Collaborating with school staff, the wider school community, and parents to identify and address health issues for students.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Experience in Child or School Health
• Proficiency in conducting School Entry Health Assessments and Adolescent Psychosocial Assessments (HEADSS)
• Competence in ear health assessment and treatment
• Certification in Mental Health First Aid
• Proficiency in providing sexual health and relationship education and care for children and adolescents
• Knowledge of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations
